The aim of the visit was to see the facility and engage with the officials working at the clinic. The clinic runs a PEPFAR funded, USAID-implemented
Care & Treatment Program. This program plays a vital role in providing chronic medication such as HIV/Aids, Asthma, Diabetes, and also family planning (oral medication). This is dispensed through a facility called e -lockers/Collect and Go where patients collect medication without contact with health care professionals. This can still be done outside the clinic’s operating hours.
This highlight the clinic’s dedication to ensuring access to quality
healthcare for all, despite various challenges.
Addresing those in attendance, the Executive Mayor indicated that the clinic is a critical health center in the city as it provides life-saving treatment and care for people living with chronic conditions. It therefore needs all the support and capacity building it can get to function.
She further expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador for his visit and for ensuring that this Clinic counts amongst those that benefit from the PEPFAR programme.
