CDM and Department of Public Works Empower EPWP Participants Through Financial Literacy

On 17 July 2026, Capricorn District Municipality (CDM), in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, hosted a Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) Financial Literacy Training for Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) participants at the CDM Council Chamber in Polokwane.

Facilitated by Ms Melika Nkuna from the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure’s Training Unit, the session equipped participants with practical knowledge on budgeting, saving, responsible spending and financial planning to promote sound money management and long-term financial wellbeing.

The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is a government initiative that creates temporary work opportunities while providing unemployed South Africans with valuable skills development and workplace experience. Through partnerships such as these, CDM continues to support initiatives that empower communities with knowledge and skills that extend beyond the workplace.
