Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo met with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), led by the newly appointed Officer Commanding of Regional Works Unit Limpopo, Colonel Lundi Ncubukezi on 03 June 2026 at Executive Mayor’s Boardroom in Polokwane.The engagement served as a meet-and-greet session for the new commander while also providing an opportunity for both institutions to discuss areas of collaboration aimed at improving service delivery for communities across Capricorn District.
Discussions focused on the district’s water infrastructure, skills transfer, training collaboration, and infrastructure maintenance, with a shared commitment to enhancing infrastructure renewal to improve service delivery which in turn impacts on the livelihood of the community. The two institutions previously met in February 2026 and have maintained ongoing discussions to ensure there is progress.
The Executive Mayor welcomed the engagement describing it as a practical example of the District Development Model (DDM) in action.
