EXECUTIVE MAYOR CLLR TEFFO CALLS FOR ACTION AS CDM WARD COMMITTEE SUMMIT CONCLUDES.

The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo closed the District Ward Committee Summit, with a call for stronger accountability, and improved community engagement in water and sanitation services during the District Ward Committee Summit held on 20 November 2025 at Landmark Lodge outside Polokwane.
She reminded delegates that ward committees are “frontline partners” and not spectators, stressing the need to tackle aging infrastructure, leaks, vandalism and communication delays. She appealed to the ward committees to speed up fault reporting, strengthen coordination with technical units, and expand use of the CDM Talk App and 0800 666 777 for emergencies.
With the 2026 elections approaching, the attendees were urged to stabilise communities, fight misinformation and protect municipal assets. She said the resolutions “must not gather dust” and called for united action to ensure dignified water and sanitation services for all residents.
