CDM IMPLEMENTS HOUSEHOLD SANITATION UNITS IN LEPELLE-NKUMPI

The Capricorn District Municipality reinforced its commitment to restoring dignity and improving public health through the implementation of the Household Sanitation Programme in Lepelle Nkumpi Local Municipality.
The project entails the construction of 600 Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP) latrines across six villages, namely Mashite, Mogodu, Sefalaolo, Seruleng, Tjiane and Matome, with each village receiving 100 units.
The project cost is R10 178 225.19 and the scope of work includes pit excavation, brick lining, erection of precast top structures, backfilling, site clearance, and health and hygiene awareness education.
The project will reduce sanitation backlogs in Lepelle Nkumpi Local Municipality communities.
