Executive Mayor Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo, MEC Florence Radzilani, Kgoshi Richard Mamabolo and South African Police Service, visited the Hope of Achievers Rehabilitation Centre in Spitzkop, Mamabolo, to confirm its closure on 18 November 2025.The centre, which has been operating illegally since April 2025, housed over 40 users. One of them reportedly died under mysterious circumstances in November 2025.
All users have since been collected by their families, and the Department of Social Development has shut the facility pending proper processes.
