MPAC doing oversight visit at Mphahlele RWS

The Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) was doing an oversight project visit at Mphahlele RWS Water Supply ( Bolatjane, Phalakwane, Mogodi, Makurung and Dithabaneng) on 09 September 2020 under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality. The project has three contractors with each responsible for a specific scope. Contract A is Mmakoto Business Enterprise, Contract B – NJR Projects and Contract C is Ba-Mamohlala Projects and the consultant is Aphane Consulting Engineers.

Contract A scope of work included construction of 9ML Concrete Reservoir, Inlet and Outlet Chambers, Overflow and Scour Valve Chambers, platform for the reservoir and the gravel service road. Contract B responsible for the construction of the Gravity bulk pipeline from the reservoir to Mogodi Village. Contract C is responsible for the construction of the Gravity Bulk Pipeline from Mogodi Village to Bolatjane Village.

The completion date of the project was reviewed due to the delay caused by the National lockdown which hindered progress on work that was underway before declaration of the National Disaster by the President of RSA Mr Cyril Ramaphosa. There had also been a delay on delivery of materials which come from overseas. The overall progress of the project for Contract A is 97% with both B and C on 80% respectively.
