Capricorn District Municipality held a successful District Aids Council session on 26 September 2023 at CDM Council Chamber. The DAC is an IGR structure chaired by the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo with Reverend Awedzani Nemaukhwe as the Co-Chairperson.T session chaired by Reverend Awedzani Nemaukhwe and focused on presentations on the ‘Status on the functionality of AIDS Councils’. The Department of Education will present on the Mapping facilities teenage delivery on 10-19 years in Capricorn, Limpopo and the Limpopo Provincial Aids Council will present on the National Strategic Plan 2023 – 2028.
The DAC brings together the most important organisations and government departments that are involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS. It strengthens and enhances the country’s response to the major challenges relating to pandemic also within the district. The stakeholders include the Department of Social Development, Health, Education, local municipalities, NGO, CBO, etc.
