The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo led the celebration of Heritage Day, Opening of Kgoshi Madimetja Sello Kekana III Thusong Service Center and Batho Pele Day at Moshate waga Kgoshi Kekana in Zebediela Moletlane under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality. The day started with traditional rituals (Go-Phasa) at Moshate. The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo was joined by the Acting Mayor of Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality Cllr Octovia Molomo and Mmasetshaba Lungile Maria Kekana (Moshate waga Kekana, Moletlane) and her council.Executive Mayor officially proceeded to open Kgoshi Madimetja Sello Kekana III Thusong Service Center. The center will be a central hub for government services in the area such as SASSA, Home Affairs, Labour etc. “This is part of government’s mandate of bringing services closer to the people. CDM is busy with an assessment to have WiFi installed and open a youth centre. This is to ensure there is access to the Internet by all,” said Executive Mayor during an interview on ZBFM 93.1
The day ended with the Executive Mayor addressing the community of Moletlane at Texas Sport Ground. “We encourage you to showcase the diversity and richness of our district’s cultural heritage through attire, music, dance, poetry, and food” – Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo as she delivered #HeritageDay message. The celebration took place on 22 September 2023 at Texas Sport Ground in Moletlane under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality.
