The Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo accompanied by the Mayor of Blouberg Local Municipality, Cllr Maria Thamaga visited that were affected by hailstorm on 10 April 2024 in the Blouberg Local Municipality areas. The hailstorm hit the families in the evening and it was reported to the Capricorn District disaster management.The disaster management team in Blouberg responded and the Executive Mayor wanted to see for herself the kind of damage that was suffered and see how the team will be able to assist the families. About 33 families from different villages were able to be assisted with temporary shelters, salvage sheets, blankets, sanitary packages and emergency lights.
Other stakeholders such as SASSA, Provincial Coghsta, Social Development, Blouberg Municipality and Red Cross will be playing their part in assisting the families.
