Casual day celebrated at Setotolwane

Setotolwane Elsen Secondary School (Education for Leaners with special educational needs) at Mankweng celebrated Casual Day on 01 September 2017 with diversity. The school caters for children who are blind and deaf. The celebration was organised by the school together with Sasko (sponsoring the event). The theme for the event was ‘Celebrating diversity with persons with disability’. Activities of the day include, drama, dance, poetry, motivational talk, cultural dance and modelling, all these activities performed by the blind and deaf learners.

The event is celebrated every year on Casual day. According to the school Principal Ramokone Molepo, “it is important to celebrate this day as a school to raise awareness in the community about learners who are differently abled. To be disabled does not mean not to be able. The community must accept and support leaners who are differently abled” said Molepo.

The event was attended by over 200 Educators and Learners from the school.
