CDM PROMOTES ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH THROUGH CLEANEST SCHOOL COMPETITION

Promoting environmental health, cleanliness and sustainable practices in schools, Capricorn District Municipality (CDM) hosted the Cleanest School Competition at Cooperspark Village in the Blouberg Local Municipality.
Eight primary schools participated in the competition: Borume Primary School, Nare Mohlarerwa Primary School, Ambergate Primary School, Masealele Primary School, Thabantsho Primary School, Mafifing Primary School, Crawcouw Primary School, and Mamadisha Primary School.
All participating schools received Certificates of Recognition for their commitment to maintaining clean, healthy and safe learning environments.
Competition Winners:
– 1st Place: Borume Primary School (Cooperspark Village) – R30,000, a printer, a laptop, cleaning materials and a trophy.
– 2nd Place: Nare Mohlarerwa Primary School (Pinkies Sebotse) – R20,000, a printer and a trophy.
– 3rd Place: Ambergate Primary School (Ngwanallela Village) – R10,000, a printer and a trophy.
The competition encourages schools to uphold high standards of hygiene and environmental management while instilling a culture of cleanliness among learners. CDM extends appreciation to sponsors Pick n Pay, Blue Ribbon and Phatsima for supporting the initiative. The competition took place on 09 March 2026.
