Capricorn District Municipality’s Portfolio Committee on Finance, had an oversight visit, in Lebowakgomo to inspect water meters across several sections of the area, on Thursday 11 December 2025.The visit comes as some communities face challenges of theft of water-meter components, and ongoing efforts to regularise connections, where some residents are transitioning from informal to proper, compliant water links. The committee also noted the need to fine-tune certain aspects of the recently installed water pipeline, to ensure improved reliability and efficiency.
Led by Chairperson Cllr. Maite Takalo, the committee visited some households in Zone F, to assess conditions on the ground and engage directly with residents. Insights gained will guide interventions aimed at strengthening water management, and service delivery in the area.
