As part of her stakeholder engagement drive, the Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr Mamedupi Teffo met with traditional leaders on the 11th of October 2021 at Uhuru Lifestyle Emporium.
The aim of the session was to meet and introduce herself to all Magoshi of Capricorn District Municipality. In attendance was also the Provincial Chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders Kgoshi Solly Dikgale and the Chairperson of the House of Traditional Leaders in Capricorn District Kgoshi Ngoako Maleboho.
Teffo pledged to continue with the long-standing good relationship that CDM has always enjoyed with magoshi. “I am looking forward to working together with you in ensuring that services are rendered to our communities because without you it will be difficult for the municipality to reach communities out there,” she said.
Mayors of local municipalities were present in the meeting.
Amongst the issues of service delivery raised by the traditional leaders is lack of water, sanitation and street lights. Teffo committed herself to making sure that the issues raised by the traditional leaders will be looked into.
The Chairperson of Capricorn District House of Traditional Leaders Kgoshi Ngoako Maleboho welcomed Executive Mayor Teffo and said that he hope that she will continue with the baton where former Executive Mayor John Mpe left off.
