STAKEHOLDER engagement sessions continue between Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo and partners in service delivery following a meeting with Lepelle Northern Water and Eskom on 11 October 2021 at CDM Offices in Polokwane.
With Eskom, the entity was represented by Mr Dikgabane Rampedi while CDM was represented by Executive Mayor and Executive Manager Infrastructure, Mr Nditsheni Sikhauli.
The meeting was geared at finding lasting solutions to challenges in respect of connection of water pump engines to the grid as well as theft and vandalism of CDM water assets, particularly in Molemole and Blouberg.
CDM’s partnership with Eskom is anchored by electrification of boreholes and prompt replacement by Eskom of vandalised or stolen water pump engines. This thus makes CDM an Eskom customer.
The meeting was of a single mind that there’s an urgent need for a site visit with all affected role players including contractors to iron out borehole connection challenges in Molemole. This is planned for next week.
Executive Mayor thanked Eskom for their support to all local municipalities in the District.
The Executive Mayor earlier met with traditional leaders, followed by a meeting with Lepelle Northern Water to resolve water supply challenges to residents and businesses. LNW was represented by the Board Chairperson, Dr Nndweleni Mphephu, and acting Chief Executive, Dr Pulane Molokwane.
