16 Days of Activism celebrated in Moletji Moshate

“Let us expose & isolate abusers because they are thorns, wolves and a disgrace to us all men. We, as the district, we carry the biggest burden in terms of the responsibility to ensure sustainable and efficient delivery to all communities and bridge the gap between the fortunate and the poor, including vulnerable groups such as women, and children. But such efforts are undermined by gender-based violence and other social imperfections” – MMC Cllr Jara Masubelele, speaking on behalf of the Executive Mayor.

Masubelele was speaking at the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children celebration held in partnership with Moletji Traditional Authority on 07 December 2018 at Moletji Moshate.

The 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children takes place annually from 25 November to 10 December. This campaign focuses mainly on generating an increased awareness of the negative impact of violence on women and children as well as society as a whole.

Masubelele urged men in the society to make sure that they come together to stop the abuse of women and children in their communities. Kgosi Kgabo Moloto III also urged men and women to find better ways of resolving problems other than resorting to violence.
