MPAC visit Sadu Water Supply project

On 20 August 2020 the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) was at Sadu Village in Blouberg Local Municipality visiting Sadu Water Supply project. The visit was part of the committees oversight program on projects implemented by the municipality.

MPAC led by Chairperson Cllr Paulina Makgato was doing a follow up visit on the R11, 4 million project to check the package plant which had challenges in their last visit.

The challenges identified previously were fixed and the package plant is now functional and able to clean water from borehole before pumping to communities for consumption.

The work done on the project as part of scope of work included construction of steel tank, equipping and commission of a borehole, installation of pre-fabricated concrete pump house, construction of a three phase electricity power line to the line to the boreholes and package plant, construct and equipping of a package plant, including 10kl balancing tank, installation of fence at the purification plant and water storages, construction of a 200m of 110mm Class 12 upvc rising main from boreholes to the steel tank and installation of 267 new individual yard connections.

The project has been implemented by consultant Morwa Consulting Engineers and contractor Silver Solutions 884.
