IN a move set to resolve the impasse over water crisis at Ga-Makgato in Blouberg, Capricorn District Municipality will on Sunday 29 January 2017 hold a community meeting with ward 15 residents to interact with them and find lasting solution to water shortages in the area.
The community has been without water for over two weeks following orchestrated acts of vandalism. Marred by tensions, chaos and anarchy, the situation in the area became volatile and all efforts to restore water supply were thwarted by intimidation of CDM and Eskom technical team. Executive Mayor John Mpe initiated a series of meetings geared at finding common ground with Makgato residents, the traditional authority and political structures in the area.
This meeting is anticipated to be unifying, progressive and ground-breaking as residents will be assured of plans, steps and commitment by CDM, Blouberg Municipality and Eskom to resolve the crisis and restore water supply, which by extension will help Alldays residents whose plight for normal water supply is drawn-out, ubiquitous and depends on this meeting too.
The meeting will also include the presence and participation of all residents of ward 15. We urge everyone to attend this engagement meeting that is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date : Sunday, 29 January 2017
Venue : Ga-Makgato, Kromhoek
Time : 10h00
You are therefore invited. For more information contact Jabu Masondo on 082 302 0566 or Moffat Senyatsi on the details below.
