FARE THEE WELL MR FANNIE MOTHIBI

β€œBoth our Council and the administration are in good shape in terms of compliance to local government laws because he is equal to the task – the task of keeping abreast with the ever-changing legislative frameworks” the Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo said.
It was a said moment as we bid a farewell to Mr Fannie Mothibi. Mr Fannie was appointed in 2011 as a Council Support Manager. He introduced Council Systems that were followed to the latter.
The Executive Mayor further said that he is quiet demeanour, great work ethic, humility, and charm will forever remain fresh in our minds.
β€œWe shall forever be inspired by your example as a manager and as acting executive manager. There can never be another you, but we will protect your legacy by ensuring that we recruit a competent, suitable replacement”.
The event was attended by Members of the Mayoral Committee, section 79 Committee Chairpersons, leaders of opposition parties in the Council, unions, and administration.
β€œWe wish you well as you join Polokwane” Mr Mokoele from IMATU.
β€œHe is a strict man. Very educated and paying attention to details. Polokwane will benefit from this man” Ms Phuti Mothapo from SAMWU.
β€œI worked with this man for years. I know his strength. He likes what he does. Go well Mothibi” Whip of Council, Dr CWD Malebana said.
β€œYour contributions to Executive Management were tremendous. Always giving good advice. We have learned a lot from you Mr Mothibi, we will miss you” Mr Ramakuntwane, the Municipal Manager said.
β€œYou made my job as a Speaker to be easy. Order was maintained in all Council seatings. We appreciate your contributions. We wish you good luck” Cllr Makgato Machaba representing the Council Speaker.
It was time for Mr. Mothibi to respond and he started with a quote β€œA good dancer must know when to leave the stage”.
He said that sometimes we should not stay long so that we give others who want to emerge a space to emerge.
He said he needed to move because it was God’s plan to do so.
Let me take this opportunity to appreciate you Executive Mayor and the leadership. Thanks for giving me space, thanks for your leadership, for the respect you showed me”
We, therefore thank and acknowledge your hard work in serving the people of the Capricorn district. For my part, I want to say how privileged I was in working with you in the course of pursuing good governance and service delivery
