CDM participate in handing over of sanitizers for Taxi Ranks

The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr John Mpe together with the Premier of Limpopo Mr Chupu Mathabatha pariticipated in the delivery and handing over of sanitizers for Taxi Ranks that took place on 17 April 2020 in Polokwane. The sanitizers were being delivered at taxi ranks in Limpopo by the Department of Roads and Transport. The meeting culminated in the road traffic patrol to check compliance in terms of the number of people in the car, travelling documents, and if there were no illegal goods being transported.

The initiative took place through a partnership between the National Department of Transport , Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety and SA TAXI & ARMSCOR

SA TAXI & ARMSCOR Donated:
800, 750 ml bottled sanitisers
8 25ltr Bulk Drum sanitisers refilling
3000 mask
500 liters of sanitisers
500 disinfectant liquid

The sponsorship was well-received and demonstrated the role small, medium and micro-enterprises can play as the Province navigates through a State of Disaster and working towards curbing the transmission of COVID-19.

On the other hand the Mayor of Blouberg Cllr Solomon Pheedi and Mayor of Molemole Cllr Edward Paya were deployed to join MEC for Social Development Mme Nkakareng Rakgoale to receive 5000 food parcels from Rheinland and Global Group to be distributed to households in the Molemole and Blouberg Municipal areas.
