“We thank CDM for this event and it really opened our eyes on things we were taking for granted and yet were very important to the livelihood of our community especially because we have lots of farmers in our area,” said Cllr Nong from Molemole Local Municipality.
“As we approach the fire season, it’s important to creating awareness on fire safety, the causes, dangers, risks, and mitigation measures,” said Mr Moabelo from CDM Fire and Rescue Service outlining the purpose.
The presenters emphasised on fire safety, fire protection, environmental health, disaster risk reduction, crime awareness and prevention. The stakeholders participating in the campaign were South African Police Services (SAPS), Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment (DFFE), Working on Fire (WOF), CDM Disaster Management, Fire and Rescue Service and Municipal Health Services (MHS).
