Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality Cllr John Mpe visited Dendron Secondary School on the first day of learning at Mogwadi in Molemole Municipality on 11 January 2017. This was part of the ‘Back to school campaign’, an annual programme for the Executive Mayor aimed at motivating and encouraging learners especially those in Grade 12 to work hard at school and make education a priority in their lives. This is done in partnership with the local municipalities and department of education. The Mayor of Molemole Cllr Edward Paya was leading his team and Mr Director Mothemane led the department of education Capricorn district team.
The EM congratulated learners and Educators at Dendron Secondary School for producing the top learner in Limpopo namely Karabo Moremi, receiving trophies for Club 100 in Mathematics and Science, the Club 100 School and for taking position four in the most bachelors. “This school has set a high standard and the 2016 class has made us proud. with 97,4 pass rate. We expect class of 2017 to do even better and be rated with the top school in the country with 100%” said EM. “We are here to support you as leaders, and there are platforms created by government to assist learners and this opportunities must be utilised. No child who has passed and admitted at a university cannot go to school when we are here. We want the best for you” said Executive Mayor.
“We are comforted by the pledge in your school song that here at Dendron you work like slaves to leave like kings. We love and wish you a successful academic year and may God richly bless and protect you. We are proud of you, start from today know that education is the key to success” emphasised CDM Speaker Cllr Nakedi Lenkganyane. School principal Mr Matsapola promised nothing but 100%.
