Learners at VP Manthata promised an improved performance after the school received a 53 % Matric pass rate. This was said by McDuff Madidimalo in front of the leadership of both Molemole Local and Capricorn District Municipality led by Executive Mayor Cllr John Mpe and Mayor Edward Paya at VP Manthata Secondary School. The visit was part of the back to school campaign held annually when schools resume in January.
The leadership encouraged the educators to work hard and smart in order to change the learning environment and behaviour within the school to ensure an overall improvement of the results from the current 53%. “You are the future, go down and work very hard, don’t pick wrong friends and succumb to peer pressure, beat it. This is your government, we are hear to support you. I was elected as an Executive Mayor in August and i want to be associated with the best, this district must be counted with best performers in my first year of office, i want to climb the top learner stage receiving you as the recipient. It starts today and now, the drive and desire rest within you, stretch yourselves and believe it can be done”, said the Executive Mayor.
“This school has produced leaders, engineers, doctors, academics, the list is endless. It cannot end there, you are capable we have to work together to revive that enthusiasm” said Mayor of Molemole Cllr Edward Paya who is also a product of VP Manthata and has adopted the school as instructed by the Executive Mayor.
