SAFER FESTIVE SEASON CAMPAIGN IN MANKWENG

Criminals will not enjoy the festive season. Law enforcement is on high alert. On 15 December 2025, Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Local Economic Development (LED) Cllr Caroline Mamabolo, joined Deputy Minister of South African Police Service Dr Polly Boshielo, Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety MEC Violet Mathye, and Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality Cllr John Mpe at the Safer Festive Season Campaign held at Mankweng, outside Polokwane.
The campaign focuses on combating crime through decisive police action and strong community involvement. The ground team comprised Capricorn District Municipality Municipal Health Services, the South African Police Service, Traffic officials, Security Services, Community Policing and Safety Forums.
Activities included roadblocks along the R71, a walkabout and community engagement at Paledi Mall, compliance inspections at liquor outlets and spaza shops in Mentz and Ga-Thoka, as well as the handover of comfort packs to victims of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) at Mankweng Hospital’s Thuthuzela Care Centre.
The Safer Festive Season Campaign reaffirms government’s commitment to ensuring safer communities during the festive period.
