Capricorn District Municipality held successful District Risk Management School Support programme that was targeting primary schools learners from schools adopted through disaster management school competition.
The program was held in partnership with Sanlam Takalani Sesame. The learners were excited to see their favorite Takalani Sesame characters from SABC Education, Zikwe and Kemi. The week long program started at New Look Primary School Extension 71 and Tloukolobe Primary School at Ga-Moropo Village both under Polokwane Municipality. The disaster management took to the opportunity to also raise awareness and educate learners on fire safety, Covid-19 and disaster management.
The program was held in partnership with Sanlam. The schools visited in other local municipalities were Senwabarwana Primary School at Senwabarwana under Blouberg Municipality, Rapoho Primary School at Mohodi under Molemole Municipality on 18 May 2021, Komane Primary School at Mafefe and Morotse Primary School at Morotse Ga-Mphahlele both under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality on 19 May 2021 and ended at Sephala Primary School at Mokomene Zone 2 under Molemole Municipality on 20 May 2021.
