The Community Safety Forum strengthens partnerships and cooperation among the various community stakeholders and organs of the state. This is to ensure crime-free and safe communities around the district.The Executive Mayor Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo, officially launched this forum at Polokwane Royal Hotel on 26 June 2024. She also gave the ten members of the forum certificates acknowledging their appointment as individuals who serve on the forum for a period of five years. The forum under the Chairpersonship of Piet Mogogoroane, will serve on the forum until 2027.
“As we intensify efforts to root out crime in our homes, our streets and everywhere else, we must direct the same strength to fight substance abuse and poverty as the three are a triple scourge that are not mutually exclusive. We are interested as CDM to move swiftly and free more of our people from the clutches of substance abuse and crime,” said the Executive Mayor.
The Executive Mayor also appreciated the good work that is done by the Community Safety Forum, particularly in schools in the district.
