ACCOUNTABILITY EMPHASIZED AT THE MPAC STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION

“As MPAC, we have a duty ensure we work together to ensure there is improvement in compliance and insist on accountability in our Municipalities “, said Chairperson of MPAC Cllr. Lisbeth Mothata closing the MPAC Strategic Planning session taking place at Landmark Protea Hotel in Polokwane.
The two day session ended on a high note with Councillors appreciating the detailed insight on amendments made on legislation which empowers MPAC to take certain decisions. These was through presentations from both Audit and Risk Management.
The session ended with a presentation of 2024 MPAC Resolutions which emphasised that MPAC should follow up on the progress made in the implementation of the recommendation made to Council and Council resolutions.
Day 1 of the session highlighting the importance of shared resources, acknowledging areas of concern and identifying areas of improvement. These followed after presentations were rendered on various areas including progress report on the 2023 MPAC resolutions, the importance of oversight, communication, etc.
The session was attended by MPAC members from Capricorn District Municipality, Speaker of Lepelle-Nkumpi  Cllr Nkobela, CDM Chair of Chairs Cllr Phuti Masoga and MPAC Chairpersons and Coordinators from local municipalities namely, Polokwane, Blouberg, Lepelle-Nkumpi and Molemole.
