On 27 June 2024, Cell C, one of SA’s leading telecommunications company, joined forces with the Capricorn District Municipality, in donating water tanks that will to augment the supply of water at schools within the district through impactful initiatives.
The handover ceremony took place at Molalahare Primary School in Moletji next to the Thusong Service Centre and Fedile High School in Botlokwa, symbolising a concerted effort to support shortages of water supply storage in schools and surrounding communities.
The Executive Mayor was represented by Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) Community Services, Cllr Elizabeth Rahlana at Molalahare Primary School in Moletji. She appreciated Cell C for considering the area of Moletji. “We appreciate this gesture from Cell C. We hope this partnership will go a long way” Cllr Rahlana said.
Mr Joshua Moela who heads up government relations at Cell C said, “these initiatives are part of Cell C’s network expansion efforts and needs-based corporate social investment strategy, which aims to foster socio-economic development and community empowerment through targeted interventions that address local needs effectively.”

“As the Water Services Authority (WSA), we recognise the importance of water security for our leaners and the surrounding communities, hence we have partnered with Cell C in this initiative. Today’s collaboration with Cell C represents a significant step towards addressing some of the water challenges in the district. We are grateful for their partnership and commitment to making a meaningful difference.” Cllr. Maite Mohale, MMC for Infrastructure said. She was representing the Executive Mayor at Fedile High School in Botlokwa.
Cell C emphasised that through their network expansion efforts and needs-based corporate social investment initiatives, they aim to create tangible positive impact, addressing connectivity while enriching the communities in which they operate.
