The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, led a two-day Mayoral Strategic Planning session held from 03-04 March 2026 at Landmark Lodge outside Polokwane. The leadership deliberated on new strategies for the upcoming financial year.The high-level session brought together Members of the Mayoral Committee and senior management to reflect on current performance, assess service delivery priorities, and reposition the municipality for greater impact in communities across the district.
The strategic engagement focused on strengthening financial sustainability, accelerating infrastructure delivery, enhancing water and sanitation programmes, and aligning planning instruments such as the IDP and SDBIP with measurable community outcomes.
Emphasis was also placed on responsive governance, improved disaster preparedness, and long-term spatial and economic planning.
Addressing the gathering, the Executive Mayor underscored the importance of moving beyond compliance-driven reporting towards impactful, people-centred implementation that responds directly to community needs.
The session marked a critical step in shaping a focused, results-oriented programme of action for the 2026/27 financial year, reinforcing the municipality’s commitment to efficient service delivery and accountable governance.
