COMPLIANCE KEY TO IMPROVING WATER AND SANITATION SERVICES

Compliance with national water and sanitation standards remains critical to improving service delivery and safeguarding public health, stakeholders heard at a workshop hosted at the Capricorn District Municipality Council Chamber, Polokwane.
The session, led by CoGHSTA, brought together key players, including the Department of Water and Sanitation and the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent.
Discussions focused on compliance with Regulation 3630, revised national standards, infrastructure management, and the Blue, Green and No Drop programmes.
The Water Institute of Southern Africa emphasised the need to professionalise the sector, highlighting the importance of skilled technicians, process controllers and project managers to ensure sustainable water services.
The held 17 March 2026, targeted officials working as process controllers, technicians, and project managers across the district.
