On 28 May 2026, the Executive Mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, attended the State of the Municipality Address held by the Blouberg Local Municipality at Inveraan Multi-Purpose Community Centre in Inveraan.
During the address, the Mayor of Blouberg Local Municipality, Cllr Maria Thamaga, tabled the municipality’s 2026/27 budget of just over R490 million, outlining key priorities aimed at improving service delivery, infrastructure development, and local economic growth within the municipality.
The event formed part of the municipality’s annual accountability programme, where leadership reflects on progress made and presents plans for the financial year ahead.
The Executive Mayor of Capricorn District Municipality reaffirmed the district’s support for Blouberg Municipality’s development agenda and its commitment to working together to improve the lives of residents.
The SOMA reinforced transparency, accountability, and cooperative governance within the district.
