MAYOR TEFFO THANKS LIMPOPO LEGISLATURE FOR BRINGING THE PEOPLE’S VOICE TO CAPRICORN

Our people will judge all of us not only by the speeches we deliver or the reports we table, but by the difference that government makes in their everyday lives,” said Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Mamedupi Teffo.

Mayor Teffo was speaking during the Taking Legislature to the People programme held at the Senwabarwana Sports Complex in Blouberg on 03 September 2026, where she welcomed the Limpopo Provincial Legislature to the district.

The Executive Mayor expressed her appreciation to the Legislature for bringing its work closer to communities, saying the programme gives practical meaning to participatory democracy by creating a platform for residents to raise issues affecting their daily lives and hold government accountable.

In an interview with SABC Combo, Mayor Teffo highlighted the importance of stronger cooperation between all spheres of government, traditional leaders and communities in addressing developmental challenges.

She emphasised that effective collaboration and meaningful community participation are essential to ensuring that government oversight translates into tangible action and improved service delivery on the ground.

The Taking Legislature to the People programme continues to strengthen the relationship between communities and government by ensuring that the voices and concerns of the people remain at the centre of governance and development.
