EXECUTIVE MAYOR TABLES R1.405 BILLION 2026/27 BUDGET

Capricorn District Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo, tabled a R1.405 billion budget for the 2026/27 financial year during the State of the District Address held at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane on 26 May 2026.

Of the total budget, more than R1.074 billion was allocated to the operating budget to sustain day-to-day municipal operations and essential service delivery functions, while over R331 million was set aside for the capital budget to support infrastructure development and strategic investment programmes.

The Executive Mayor stated that the current council term was drawing to a close, marking the end of a five-year journey of service, sacrifice, growth, and collective effort aimed at improving the lives of communities.

She further noted that the municipality remained fully committed to utilising the remaining months of the council term productively and responsibly, with a focus on consolidating gains made, accelerating the completion of ongoing programmes, and ensuring a smooth transition for the incoming council.
