On 13 May 2026, the Speaker of Council, Kholofelo Lehong, led a Public Participation Workshop at the West Wing Boardroom of Blouberg Local Municipality in Senwabarwana as part of efforts aimed at strengthening municipal legislative systems and community engagement.
The workshop focused on ward governance, accountability, community feedback meetings, and improving interaction with communities during service delivery. Dr Fannie Mothibi presented on Ward Governance and Public Participation systems within Polokwane Municipality, while Mr Selamolela from Blouberg Local Municipality focused on best practices in hosting Community Feedback Meetings.
Both Speaker of Blouberg Local Municipality, Phineas Blanco Boloka, and Welheminah Modiba of Polokwane Municipality emphasized the importance of knowledge-sharing and strengthening legislative support structures across municipalities.
The meeting was also attended by officials from Limpopo COGHSTA and officials from Speakers’ Offices.
