The Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Community Services, Cllr Elizabeth Rahlana, today led the International Fire Fighters Day (IFFD) Roadshow held at Mogwadi and Senwabarwana towns in Molemole Municipality and Blouberg Local Municipality respectively on 12 May 2026.The roadshow forms part of Capricorn District Municipality Emergency Services’ ongoing awareness campaign aimed at educating communities on fire safety ahead of the winter fire season.
The campaign targeted commuters at taxi ranks and shopping complexes, where officials engaged with members of the public and distributed educational material on fire prevention and safety measures.
Led by the Fire and Rescue Services team, the initiative was supported by several stakeholders, including LEDET, which educated community members on consumer rights, Working on Fire (WOF)and Municipal Health Services.
The awareness drive forms part of preparations for the main International Fire Fighters Day event scheduled to take place on 20 May 2026.
