AGANANG REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY VISITED BY MPAC

No village is too far to reach when you have a committed Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) that is determined to do its oversight responsibilities on projects. Chaired by Cllr Lisbeth Mothata, the committee visited Aganang Regional Water Supply at Lesfontein village in Blouberg Local Municipality on 16 March 2022.

The project scope completed included testing of one new boreholes, construction of 75mm diameter of 5,000m class 09 UPVC pipeline and ancillaries from borehole to the storage tanks, and construction of 90mm diameter of 2,500m class 12UPVC pipeline and ancillaries from the borehole to the storage tanks.

The contractor is still on site awaiting electrification of the borehole and finalizing outstanding work. The R5,7 million project commenced 21 November 2021 and is 90% complete. The anticipated completion date is 05 May 2022.

Attending to the MPAC project visit was also the Project Steering committee, project manager, consultant, contractor, Ward Councilor, community liaison officer and institutional social development who also raised issues and gave clarity on questions relating to the project.
