Capricorn District Municipality, Department of Agriculture in Limpopo and other stakeholders, had a Young Farmers information Day on Market Access for Agricultural Produce at Lebowakgomo Civic Centre in Lepelle-Nkumpi. The young farmers who attended were from around Capricorn District and other surrounding districts. The information day was held on 28 March 2022.
The aim of the session was to advise and encourage the young farmers to improve their produce, and to open doors for them to come and supply their produce to the market.
The farmers were also encouraged to master the art of marketing their produce and advised on the benefits that marketing has on a business.
Girlly Seboane from Madibong Village in Jane Furse, one of the farmers called on the farmers to make use of the opportunity that they stay in places under traditional authorities, where land is easily accessible. She also encouraged them to set targets for themselves in their work and make sure they reach them.
Institutions which availed themselves to share information with the young farmers are; NJ Fresh Produce, Goseame, Roots Fruits, Meat and Veg, Boxer, Pick and Pay, MACVEE, P&A Seedlings, South Africa Agricultural Graduate Association, Limpopo United Business Forum and others.
