MPAC VISITED MABOE PARK WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

Municipal Public Accounts Committee visited Maboe Park water supply project at Ga-Mathabatha in Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality on 28 March 2022.

The R1.65 million project targeted 800 households. The work completed inclppuded drilling and equipping of borehole, excavation, laying of reticulation pipes, installation of four tanks on stands, installation of 5km mainline, control valves and communal stand pipes.

The project is not yet fully functional with contractor awaiting electrification. “We are not concerned that the project is complete but not electrified, contractors need to apply for electrification early so that by the time the project is completed Eskom is also on standby to connect. We will be happy if we can see the project electrified and our people receiving water without any challenge,” said MPAC Chairperson Cllr Lisbeth Mothata.
