WE MEAN BUSINESS: FOOD SAFETY A PRIORITY

Prevention is better than cure and safety of our community is our priority. Capricorn District Municipality, Municipal Health Services, embarked on a Food Safety Campaign in and around villages at Senwabarwana, Blouberg Municipality.
Ensuring food safety and proper health is a mandate of the municipality. It is because of this, and the recent incidents of deaths in the country due to alleged food poisoning, that the tuck shop were visited today. The Campaign was today focusing on tuck shops situated close to schools.
The team visited tuck shops at the following villages; Marais, Dilaeneng and in Senwabarwana township. Unfit food items were removed from shelves, and fines were imposed on those businesses which were found to be in violation of municipal health bi-laws.
The campaign was conducted jointly with Senwabarwana South African Police Services (SAPS). The campaign took place at Senwabarwana on 31 October 2024.
