The Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo together with Polokwane Municipality’s Executive Mayor Cllr. John Mpe led a team from both municipalities, that was meeting Anglo American at The Ranch Hotel on 13 July 2023.The engagement between the parties was aimed at giving a platform for Anglo American to give feedback to the two municipalities, on social responsibility projects they were engaged in in the district.
In her closing remarks the Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr. Mamedupi Teffo expressed her appreciation for the work that Anglo American was doing in communities in the district and has appealed that they invest more in infrastructure projects such as water and sanitation, and also consider coming up with sustainable projects (food security).
The Executive Mayor further committed the municipality’s support to make sure the partnership becomes a success.
“We appreciate this initiative and we are here to assist and work with you. This partnership came at the right time. We thank you for making us understand your strategy on how you planning to work with communities” Cllr Teffo said.
She further emphasized that as partners we are obliged to service our communities. We need to work with the private sector in making sure that basic services like water, roads, and other services are implemented.
