“This educational enrichment camp is of interest to us as a developmental municipality, our overall development as a district is dependent on how well learners are progressing with their education and future careers. It is for that reason that we have to keep partnering with the Department of Education to create space for learners to continuously improve their matric performance, hence this educational enrichment camp”. These were words by the Acting Executive Mayor for CDM, MMC for SEMS Cllr. Solly Mahlatji.Cllr. Mahlatji was speaking during the municipality’s visit to learners who were taking part in a Capricorn North Winter Educational Enrichment Camp taking place at Ratanang Special School at Senwabarwana in Blouberg Municipality, on 06 July 2023.
The camp started on 25 June 2023 and ended 07 July 2023. It was attended by three-hundred Grade 12 progressed learners from different schools from the Capricorn North District Circuit. They were doing the commerce, science and general stream of subjects.
Cllr. Mahlatji also wished the learners well on their studies and said that the municipality hope to see them among the best performers for the matric class of 2023.
