The Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo led the new prepaid water smart meters site handover at Lebowakgomo in Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality on 12 November 2024 in Lebowakgomo under Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality. The handover session was for Ward 15, 17 and 18. She was accompanied by Members of the Mayoral Committee and administration led by the Municipal Manager.
The Executive Mayor presented a report on Smart Meters, plans and incentives for communities in Lebowakgomo. Smart meter installation had already been implemented in Molemole and Blouberg municipalities.
“This project is now going to benefit the people of Lebowakgomo. One of the biggest benefits of smart meters is that it will help people and businesses save money. This system works exactly like when people buy electricity, cellphone data or any system that people buy and manage their units through smart meters.
The consultative meetings were happening concurrently also in ward 17 led by MMC for Corporate Services Cllr Sammy Selamolela, and ward 18 MMC for DPEMS Cllr Matome Masoga.
