Community Healthcare Workers in Capricorn District were on the ground in Seshego on Thursday, 15 January 2026, continuing the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) awareness campaign aimed at educating residents on safe water use, proper sanitation and good hygiene practices to prevent waterborne diseases. As part of the campaign, health workers conducted door-to-door visits and engaged with community members at key public areas including Seshego Plaza, Zone 3 and Biko Park, ensuring that information reached as many residents as possible.
The initiative follows unverified social media rumours and reports of diarrhoeal cases in the area. Authorities have confirmed that there is no formal evidence of water contamination and that preliminary tests show municipal water is safe for consumption. Residents are encouraged to cooperate with health workers and rely on official information.
