#BackToSchool2026 AT KGALEMA SECONDARY SCHOOL

On 15 January 2025, as part of the #BackToSchool2026, the Capricorn District Municipality visited Kgalema Secondary School in Mafefe, under the Noko-Tlou Circuit in the Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality, to welcome and motivate the 2026 learners, in particular the Grade 12 Class.
The school achieved 98% pass rate, 44 Bachelor’s passes, and 15 distinctions, topping the circuit! Learners’ discipline and strong community support were key to this success, with a 100% pass rate set as the 2026 goal.
These achievements were credited to the collective of disciplined learners and the strong support of parents, the SGB, SADTU, the Council of Churches, and the circuit office.
MMC Cllr Mahlatjie encouraged learners to stay focused, avoid negative influences, maintain healthy lifestyles, and follow structured study plans. He also welcomed Grade 8s and stressed respect and zero tolerance for bullying.
“Let’s keep supporting our learners on their path to excellence,” urged Mahlatji.
