The Capricorn District Municipality hosted a prize giving awards ceremony at Helen Franz Special School in Blouberg Local Municipality to reward learners who attended Build Better Boys capacity building camp which was held earlier in 2023. The award ceremony took place on 06 November 2023.Speaking to the learners on behalf of the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Strategic Executive Management Services (SEMS) Cllr Solly Mahlatji encouraged the Boys to continue learning, respecting their parents and teachers at all times for a better future that is ahead of them and not to be influenced negatively by their peers and be involved in wrongful activities such as substance abuse and theft. Cllr Solly Mahlatji also thanked the learners from different schools and all sponsors that helped with this programme being a success.
MMC Cllr Solly Mahlatji was joined by MMC for Community Services Cllr Elizabeth Rahlana, officials from Coghsta, Department of Social Development, SAPS, Department of Correctional Services, NGO Sponsors.
