MPAC continues with oversight work

The oversight work of council continue to be prioritized even in the last few days of office for Councilors.
On 12 October 2021, the Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) visited Senwabarwana Ground Water Supply project in Senwabarwana under Blouberg Local Municipality.
The project visit led by Chairperson Cllr Paulina Makgato is a follow up visit on the project that was granted an extention due to Covid-19 challenges encountered during its commencement period in the beginning of March 2020.
The project is 96% complete with outstanding challenges being upgrading of the transformer and training of package plant operators has been conducted. The project is currently supplying water to the community in Senwabarwana area.
The project valued at about R21, 8 million included construction of a package plant used for water treatment, potable water transfer pumps, elevated steel tank, electrification of the new water treatment facilities, fencing and installation of steel gates.
