LIMPOPO HOST G20 AGRICULTURE MEETING AT THE RANCH

Member of Mayoral Committee responsible for Planning in Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr Matome Masoga, represented the Executive Mayor Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, as Limpopo Province host to a prestigious G20 agriculture-focused meeting at The Ranch Resort, bringing together key stakeholders, policymakers, and scientists to deliberate on innovative agricultural methods and sustainable practices.
The event was graced by the MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Nakedi Sibanda-Kekana, who welcomed delegates and emphasized the province’s commitment to agricultural transformation and food security.
Also in attendance was Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Nokuzola Capa, who highlighted the importance of global collaboration in addressing climate change and technological advancement in the sector.
Cllr Pemma, represented the Executive Mayor of Polokwane Municipality. Adding a cultural dimension to the discussions was a representative from the Khoisan leadership, Kgosi Thabo Milton Seatlholo who shared indigenous perspectives on land use and sustainability.
Agricultural scientists and experts from across the G20 nations are expected to share insights and propose forward-thinking solutions aimed at boosting productivity, conserving resources, and supporting emerging farmers, especially in rural communities.
The G20 meeting reinforces Limpopo’s growing role as a hub for agricultural innovation and intergovernmental cooperation in Africa. The summit took place from 26-28 May 2025.
