SCHOOL SAFETY AT THE CENTER OF CSF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SEMINAR

Safety of our children at school has been identified as one of the challenges that needs collaboration amongst various stakeholders who will resiliently prioritise safety of children.
This was said by Kwena Seroka, the Acting Director of Governance in the Department of Education (Capricorn North) while presenting insightful information on school safety policy.
Seroka was talking during the Capricorn District Municipality Community Safety Forum Community Engagement Seminar held at Soekmekaar Community Hall in Morebeng under Molemole Local Municipality.
Other inputs presented concerning young people at schools included also the issue of statutory rape, disaster risk reduction, fire safety, crime at schools, and municipal health.
The departments that presented were Social Development, SAPS, Special Investigating Unit (SIU), Disaster Management, Fire and Rescue, Municipal Health, Correctional Services, Health, Sport, Arts and Culture. The engagement took place on 22 May 2025.
