Capricorn District Municipality through Municipal Health Services unit and led by Cllr. Violet Lehong hosted a health awareness campaign at Marowe village in Molemole Local Municipality. The campaign aimed to educate the public about communicable diseases such as MPOX, Chicken Pox and others while encouraging the washing of hands to prevent the spread of these diseases.
The community received presentations from Boarder Management Authority, Department of Health, Molemole Municipality, CDM Disaster Management Services, CDM Fire and Rescue Services, SAPS and CDM Municipal Health.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Mayor of CDM Cllr Mamedupi Teffo, Member of the Portfolio Committee on Community Services Cllr. Violet Lehong said, “We thank you for the insightful presentations from your respective field, I appeal that we continue to take care of our health and make washing of hands regularly a habit to avoid or prevent the spread of diseases.”
The awareness campaign was held on 11 September 2024.
