Capricorn District Municipality officially handed over and introduced the contractor for the Capricorn Household Sanitation project within Lepelle-Nkumpi Local Municipality at Lebowakgomo Civic Centre on 18 November 2024.The project is for the construction of 515 units at a cost of R9 626 896.68. The benefiting villages will be Ga-Mathabatha (Ward 27) 200 units, Mphahaneng (Ward 28) 100 units, Success (Ward 28) 100 units and Ga-Madiba Ngwaname (Ward 29) 115 units. The contract commenced the same day and is expected to be completed by 30 June 2025.
The handover was led by Cllr Maite Mohale, Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) responsible for Infrastructure. The project t is estimated to create 40 jobs during implementation. The contractor for the project is Saldana Projects PTY (Ltd). The handover was attended by Councillors and Ward Committees from respected areas.
